Alix Fernz – HaHa!

Alix Fernz drops “HaHa!” as the second single from upcoming album “Symphonie publicitaire sous influence”. The Montreal artist continues crafting what Cult MTL called her “crazy post-punk, new wave and alt-pop menagerie” with synthetic dissonances and metallic rhythms. Co-directed by Nicolas Dubé (Stoylov), the album features Vincent Lemay on bass, Juan Espitia on drums, and mixing by Kenneth Gilmore (Weyes Blood, Ariel Pink).

“HaHa!” runs on incisive guitars and synthesizers that twist over a driving rhythm section, telling stories of glamorous daily life giving in to excess. Fernz examines a community that’s swapped daylight for neon overdose, sharing the experience of Montreal’s delinquent idyll. The track showcases her penchant for magnificently sordid arrangements while maintaining wise kindness underneath the acid—this second album will be released October 17th on Mothland.
